Jiumenkou Great Wall

Lijia Township of Suizhong County, Huludao. Dating to 1381, in the Ming Dynasty, this section of the Great Wall was of high strategic imporance. It was known as "The First Pass in Jingdong". It is here that the wall crosses the Juijian River. This makes for a unique site on the Great wall as the stone arches step out over the hundred plus metres of water. Along with other sections of the Great Wall, this is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
