Dalian Museum of Natural History

Dalian Museum of Natural History is a large high quality museum located by the shore near to Xinhai park, in the southwest of the city. The large display shows all kinds of wildlife, past and present, that was native to Liaoning, however, as you would expect in Dalian, it focuses most strongly on sea life. The prize exhibits are the remains of several large whales that take up most of the central hall of the museum. There is also a high quality dinosaur exhibition showing several of the unique "feathered dinosaurs" and early birds fossils that Liaoning has become famous for.
